"This dvd is an invaluable tool to myself and my family. It covers a variety of essential etiquette information. As for the teen portion of the dvd, it was more effective for my teen son and daughter to watch the dvd with my husband and myself rather than getting a lecture from us - and we learned plenty as well. Having the quizes at the end of each section not only made it fun but helped us retain what we learned. I thought I already knew about etiquette, however, I have already put much of this dvd's content to use in many social situations. Five stars to this dvd and its wealth of information!"

Great movie for etiquette training for teens. I made up a worksheet to go with it and it gets the point across w/o being stuffy.

These programs are partially based on a popular workshop course which is, apparently taking the Silicon Valley baby 'zoomer' by storm." "Socially nervous nellies will eat these up, while people like me will continue to do what we always have when confronted with peas: reach for the spoon without hesitation or regret. Despite my quibbles, these videos are recommended!

"A Toast to Wedding Etiquette for Dummies! Sue Fox has written an exceptional guide for any bride-to-be preparing for her big day. As an etiquette instructor, this book is an excellent guide and reference tool that helps me with instructing my own clientele. Anyone will be able to delve thoroughly into step-by-step chapters or do a quick scan for valuable information that's been carefully listed for fast, on-the-spot reference information.
I love that Fox offers ceremony styles for brides of various cultures or religions and explains the "how to traditions" for each. It's a fun and easy read, well organized, with great inside tips and information that can surely save the wedding day or situation. I recommend this book to any participant of the wedding and I will not hesitate to sell this book in my classes and offer them as a free give-away to my students!"

"A helpful book! I purchased both "Wedding Planning for Dummies" and "Wedding Etiquette for Dummies". I am a future mother of the bride. Since I myself had a very simple, non-traditional wedding decades ago, I wanted to be better prepared for my daughter's wedding. I find that the "Wedding Etiquette for Dummies" is NOT just a "manners" book, it wraps the etiquette into the planning itself, and as such is a good resource. No book of this kind can possibly answer all questions and relate to all of the variations in weddings/receptions today, but I find this a handy all-in-one resource with a good overview of all aspects, as well as good detail in many areas. Whatever questions aren't answered in this book I plan on using the many online resources available today to add supplemental detail."

What I particularly liked?

* The depth of the content. If someone doesn't have the time to read many etiquette books but still wants to learn the subject really thoroughly I would highly recommend this book. There are many books out there which cover many etiquette topics but often quite superficially. In this book you get very detailed information on various etiquette matters. I would even call it "The Etiquette Bible". I would say this is a must-read for anyone who considers teaching business etiquette.
* The anecdotes because they proof that the topic discussed is related to the real life. I adore reading them.
* The caricatures which remind the reader that etiquette shouldn't always be taken dead-serious. And it made me also think: Why is there actually not a comic book out there that teaches etiquette in a funny way (such as Dilbert books by Scott Adams)?
* Something you can find in any "For Dummies" book are the icons. It helps the reader to find certain things very quickly, such as: anecdotes, tips, faux pas to avoid, things to remember etc.
* "What you are not to read" which appears in shaded gray boxes is a section which the author doesn't consider as essential for grasping a given etiquette topic but which I considered as often very interesting and informative.
* The fact that topics such as:
- Diversity Etiquette (physical, racial and ethnic, gender and sexual differences),
- Taking part in a variety of social off-site activities,
- Coming to terms with difficult people and
- Managing ethical dilemmas at work
were also covered. In many business etiquette books they are not considered at all.

How I would rate it?

I would give it a 9 out of 10. I would have given it a 10 if:
- it would have included more anecdotes, as this was the case in the first edition of the book. I loved them.

"Just one more thing. If my house would be on fire tomorrow, and I could rescue one of my books, this would be the one I would save in the last minute ."

I have given this book to all my nieces and nephews and other young people. It gives excellent tips and hints about how to avoid social mistakes and how to feel more at ease in social situations. It is very easy to read, with a good format, and highlights special tips to remember. It is a good preparation for high school students and those going off to college as well as young people who are entering the business world for the first time. A good summary of the basics.
